Collection of seven videos, five of which biographical profiles. Dinah and Bishop Richard Allen were both born enslaved and eventually achieved freedom. Dinah was held by the Dickinson family, and Allen by the Sturgis family. James Summers was born free, but had to fight for the freedom of his children and wife from enslavement. Warner Mifflin was a former enslaver who became an influential abolitionist due to his Quaker faith. A final video shares the story of Avery's Rest Site, a burial ground containing the remains of the earliest enslaved individuals found in the state of Delaware.
